Waves of air strikes hit cities in Yemen happymamay

Airstrikes were reported on two cities in Yemen.

Agence France-Presse reported that eyewitnesses and the ruling Houthi rebels said that an airport and a military base were targeted in the capital, Sanaa, while a power station in the western coastal city of Hodeidah was also bombed.

Houthi TV blamed the attacks on Israel, which did not comment on the reports.

Human losses were not clear from initial reports. In recent days, Israel warned that it was preparing for a major attack on the Houthis after the group launched drones and missiles at them.

The Houthi rebels, backed by Iran, have been attacking Israel since the first months of the Gaza war, which began in October 2023.
