Fallon Sherrock failed to automatically reach the final stage of qualifying school in one match.
Sherrock won four matches on the second day of the UK Qualifying School in Milton Keynes but lost 5-3 to Ireland’s John O’Shea in the last 16.
However, given her good run on Tuesday, where she came back from 4-1 down to Martin Grierson in the top 64 to win by 121 checkouts and 12 arrows, she is up to 25th on the Order of Merit and looking very good. She is sure to reserve her place in the final stage via this route.
PDC Qualifying Schools offer any darts player aged 16 or over the opportunity to earn a two-year PDC Tour card, with the qualifying school taking place at venues in the UK and Germany simultaneously over a seven-day period.
The top eight from each day automatically qualify for the final stage, while the remaining places in the final stage – up to a total of 128 in each place – are determined by the Order of Merit.
Nathan Girvan, O’Shea, Scott Campbell, Kelvin O’Keefe, Michael Flynn, Jim Moston, Ted Evetts and Jimmy Atkins all booked their places in the final stage on day two.
