Major Caribbean earthquake triggers tsunami alerts in Cuba, Puerto Rico happymamay

The American Geological Survey said a strong earthquake of 7.6 people beating the Caribbean Sea, which causes tsunami warnings of a number of countries.

Officials say the earthquake center is about 20 miles (32.1 km) north of Honduras and 130 miles (209.2 km) southwest of the Kayman Islands.

A number of tsunami alerts have been released to the region, including the coast of Colombia, the Caieman, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua and Cuba.

The national weather service warned of the potential risks of Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands: “Strong currents and dangerous waves on those in or near water.”

Usgs said that large earthquakes on this site from the boundaries of the painting are not unexpected.

In 2018, an earthquake of 7.5 people occurred nearby, causing some small damage and tuni.

He added: “Fortunately, the distant site of these earthquakes limits the possibility of major damage due to shaking.”
