“We have tried to recruit him, but we were very narrow in the cover to become fair. He will definitely add something to the Premier League,” said Sam Burgis.
“It will be good to close the opening round. In a personal note, our families will be there, family friends, and it will be a happy day.
“He brings a lot of experience. He had more than 250 games in NRL and 50 games in the Premier League before that at Huddersfield Plus 35 Test.
“There are not many players who got this CV. It will be great for them – it’s a shame that we did not get it!”

Although Tom Burgis chose to play under his older brother, he is proud of what he achieved in his first year as a main coach and knows that Huddersfield will have a difficult task when they take them on Sunday.

“He has improved them widely and will only continue.
“I am really proud of it. This was his way and he has now achieved it.”
