Friedrich Mirz governors won the German elections, moving on the competing parties, but they are less than 30 % of the participation they expected.
“Let’s celebrate the night, and in the morning, we will reach the work.” He said, “I am aware of the responsibility that is waiting for him now.”
The other winner was the extreme right -wing alternative to Germany (AFD), who celebrate a record result in second place by 20.8 %.
AFD candidate for the Chancellor, Alice Widel, was a victory from her supporters, but even her party was hoping for a greater result and the mood was placed in AFD HQ.
With the results appearing during the early hours of Monday, it became clear that AFD was advanced on the other parties in the east, with 34 % expected according to a survey of the ZDF general broadcaster.
“The Germans voted for change,” said Alice Widel. She said that Friedrich Mirz’s attempt to form an alliance will eventually end: “We will hold new elections – I do not think we will have to wait another four years.”
But as the election map turned into a light blue color in the east, most of the rest of Germany turned black – CDU.
After the collapse of the OLAF Scholz alliance consisting of three concerts in late last year, Mirz asked the voters to a strong authorization to form a clear alliance with another party.
He said that this would enable him to solve the largest possible number of Germany’s problems within four years, from the stagnant economy to closing its borders of irregular migrants.
German voters had other ideas. They went out in large numbers, with an unprecedented 83 % turnout since the 1990, but Christian Democrats in Mirz were looking for more than 28.6 % of the votes he received and their Bavarian brother party.
Mirz excluded work with AFD. There are taboos or a “protection wall” that prevents the main parties in Germany from working with the far right.
But his most likely partner, Social Democrats, suffered from the worst result of 16.4 %.
Their leader, outgoing adviser Olaf Schools, said that the election results were a bitter defeat for the party, and will not participate in negotiations for the coalition.
Due to the relatively packed CDU performance, there were initially some doubts that two parties would be caffeine for a coalition.
Germany has just passed over four years of coalition consisting of three parties and the only realist partner was the Greens, who mocked his leader, Robert Habik, Mirz as a representative of heat pumps “on the eve of the vote.
Mirz, 69, did not occupy a ministerial position, but he promised if he became the next German advisor to show leadership in Europe and support Ukraine.
Most of the Germans shocked the open support that billionaire Illon Musk and US Vice President JD Vance gave a substitute for Germany in the elections. Vans was accused of interfering in the vote during a visit to Munich, while Elon Musk made repeated statements on his X.
Alice Widel and her party did not harm at all, as AFD enjoyed an increase of 10 points in support four years ago. But she also benefited from a successful Tiktok campaign, which attracted large numbers of young voters.
However, President Donald Trump welcomed Mirz’s victory. He said it was evidence that the Germans, like the Americans, were tired of “the agenda of not good, especially on energy and immigration.”
If this is an introduction, Mirz did not take as one. He said to discuss a round table on Sunday night that it had become clear last week that the Trump administration was “largely indifferent to the fate of Europe.”
Trump strangely described Volodimir Zellinski from Ukraine as a “dictator” and appears to be accusing Kiev of starting the war, which Russia has launched on its neighbor three years ago.
“His absolute priority” is “strengthening Europe as quickly as possible so that we can achieve real independence from the American move.”
Soon, Mirz’s victory was welcomed through most of Europe. Emmanuel Macron from France talked about unification at the time of uncertainty “to face the main challenges of the world and our continent”, while UK Prime Minister Sir Kerr Starmer sought to “enhance our joint security and provide growth to both countries.”
The Christian Democrats of Frederich Mirz continue to rely on the oldest voters for their success, while it seems that voters between the ages of 18 and 24 seem more interested in both AFD and another party, the left, which has risen in opinion polls in recent weeks.
Not so long ago the left was heading outside Parliament with the reconnaissance numbers much lower than the 5 % threshold.
But a series of Tiktok videos that show the co -leader Heidi Reichink to gunfire in Parliament became viral and ended up to nearly 9 %, and a quarter of the youngest, according to ARD survey.
