The United States has risen twice to Russia with voices at the United Nations to celebrate the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, highlighting the change of Trump’s position in the war.
Initially, the two countries opposed a European formulation of condemning Moscow’s actions and supporting the regional safety of Ukraine, which was approved by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
Then they supported the decision of the United Nations Security Council in the United Nations Security Council calling for an end to the conflict, but it does not have criticism of Russia.
The Security Council Resolution was approved, but two main American allies, the United Kingdom and France, were abstained in voting after their attempts to amend the formulation.
Competitive decisions were presented as a French president Emmanuel Macron visited President Donald Trump at the White House In an attempt to address their sharp differences on the war.
On Thursday, British Prime Minister Sir Kerr Starmer will visit the new American leader.
The White House Trump raised the Atlantic alliance, and Saleh Carrey with Moscow and doubted America’s long -term commitment to European security.
This rift was placed on the ground of Unga 193 members on Monday, when American diplomats prompted their limited decision to lose lives during the “Russian conflict and caravans” and called for a quick end.
European diplomats have presented a more detailed text, and they blamed Russia for its extensive conquest, and supported the sovereignty of Ukraine and regional integrity.
“We need to reaffirm that the aggression must be condemned and distorted, not its reward,” said Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Mariana Pitsa.
UNGA members supported the European decision with 93 votes, but, unusually, the United States did not abstain, but they voted against it, along with Russia, Israel, North Korea, Sudan, Ballarosia, Hungary and 11 other states, with 65 states.
UNGA also approved the American decision, but only after its amendment to include the language that supports Ukraine, which led to the refusal to refrain from the United States.
In the most powerful United Nations Security Council, which has 15 members, the unreasonable American decision was approved with 10 votes, while abstaining from the United Kingdom, France, Denmark, Greece and Slovenia.
Dorothy Camel Xia, an American envoy for the United Nations, described the American decision as “a simple historical statement … not looking forward, not back. A decision focuses on a simple idea: ending the war.”
The United States rarely has been in dispute with its supposed European allies.
Since Russia has invaded Ukraine three years ago, the Security Council was subjected to a dead end due to the power of Russia, one of its five permanent members, to veto any decision there.
For this reason, Unga was the main forum for discussing war, but its decisions are not legally binding on member states, unlike their strength.
