Mykhailo Mudryk: Chelsea forward provisionally suspended by FA over ‘adverse finding’ in urine test | Football News happymamay

The English Football Association announced the temporary suspension of Chelsea striker Mykhailo Modric due to a negative result in a routine urine test.

The Premier League club announced on Tuesday that the FA had contacted Modric and said the 23-year-old insisted he “never knowingly used any banned substances”.

Modric said in a statement on social media that this was a “complete shock” and that he “did nothing wrong.”

A Chelsea statement read: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm that the Football Association has recently contacted our player Mykhailo Modric regarding a negative result in a routine urine test.”

“Both the club and Mykhaylo fully support the FA’s testing program and all our players, including Mykhaylo, are tested regularly.

“Mykhaylo has categorically stated that he never knowingly used any banned substances. Mykhaylo and the club will now work with the relevant authorities to determine the cause of the negative result.

“The club will not comment further.”

Modric joined Chelsea in January 2023 in a transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk, Ukraine, worth 88.5 million pounds.
