The United States expels the Ambassador of South Africa in Washington, with Foreign Minister Marco Rubio says that “it is no longer welcome in our great country.”
In a post on X, Rubio accused Ambassador Ibrahim Rasol of hatred of America and President Donald Trump.
He described him as “a politician with an ethnic taste”, adding, “We have nothing to discuss with.”
The rare step represents the latest development in high tensions between the two countries.
BBC called the South African embassy in Washington, DC for comment.
In his post on Friday, Rubio was associated with an article from the right -wing port, which was quoted by some observations on the last Rasool during an online lecture on the Trump administration.
Rasoul said in this event: “What Donald Trump calls is an attack on jobs, those who are in power, by mobilizing superiority against homes, outside …”.
He added that the Maga movement was a response to “very clear data showing major demographic transformations in the United States of America, which are expected to become voting voting 48 percent white.”
In response, Rubio launched a “unwanted personality”, referring to the Latin phrase of the “unpopular person.”
The post came from Rubio leaving Canada from a meeting with foreign ministers.
Relations between the United States and South Africa have been deteriorating since Trump took office.
The US president signed an executive order last month freezing help in South Africa. The matter indicates the “terrible measures” written by South Africa and cited “of non -fair racial discrimination” against the eggs – those who descend from Dutch settlers.
The matter also indicates a new law, which is the confiscation law, that it claims that the Africans target Africans by allowing the government to withdraw private lands.
“South Africa has always continued to support bad actors on the global stage and allow violent attacks on non -exploited minority farmers, the United States will stop helping and assisting the country,” according to a statement issued by the White House.
The Associated Press reported that the government in South Africa refuses its law related to race.
The facts of the White House states that the country “was starkly distinguished against the descendants of ethnic minorities in the settlers’ groups.”
While diplomats are sometimes low are expelled at times, it is very unusual in the United States to have a senior official like a foreign ambassador, according to Associated Press, noting that the United States or Russia has taken such measures against each other even amid tensions during the Cold War.
Rasool previously worked as an ambassador to the country in the United States from 2010 to 2015 before being exploited again in 2025.
He was born and raised in Cape Town. When he was nine years old, he and his family were removed from an apartment that was only announced to white people. As he was old, he became more interested in politics and said that the evacuation was an important moment in his upbringing that led his future.
