Get ready for the 2025 Formula 1 season by sticking to all the key dates as teams announce their new car launch plans.
Formula 1’s announcement of the launch of its first-ever 20-driver team at London’s O2 circuit on February 18 has cast doubt on whether teams will continue to hold their usual individual pre-season events.
It was only when Italian team boss Frederic Vasseur, speaking at the annual pre-Christmas media day, confirmed the February 19 launch date for the car, that it became clear that this was likely to be the case across the grid.
So far, only the full team and Ferrari launch dates have been confirmed, but the rest of the field is expected to announce theirs in the coming days and weeks.
Formula 1 Special Event: Launching on February 18
The special event to mark the start of Formula 1’s 75th anniversary will take place at the iconic London venue The O2.
It will be attended by all 20 drivers and will include interviews with the sport’s most prominent players, as well as live music performances and entertainment for the fans in attendance.
Tickets for the event reportedly sold out in less than an hour, with fans eager to get their first look at a network that features a lot of changes after years of relative stability.
It is expected that the teams will present their new liveries on the 2024 cars, instead of revealing their actual new competitors for the 2025 season.
Ferrari: Launching on February 19
Whether intentional or not, Vasseur has lifted the lid on what will be a highly anticipated start for Ferrari ahead of Lewis Hamilton’s first season with the team.
Based on previous years, the media will likely be given a more in-depth opportunity to speak to Hamilton and his new teammate Charles Leclerc.
It remains to be seen whether Ferrari will use this event to reveal its actual design for 2025, or wait until testing a week later.
When is Formula 1 pre-season testing?
Pre-season testing will take place from February 26 to 28 at the Bahrain International Circuit, with only three days to prepare for the new season.
When is the first F1 race?
With the season-opening race moving from Bahrain to Australia for 2025, there is a two-week gap between testing and the cars arriving on the competitive track.
Melbourne hosts the opening round from March 14-16, followed immediately by China in another Sprint weekend from March 21-23.
