Abdukodir Khusanov: Manchester City’s £33.5m bid for defender accepted by Lens after Omar Marmoush deal agreed in principle | Football News happymamay

Lens has accepted Manchester City’s offer for Abdulkader Khosanov.

An agreement has been reached between the clubs worth £33.5 million (€40 million) plus bonuses.

Uzbek international centre-back Khosanov, 20, is set to sign a four-and-a-half-year contract that also includes the option of a further year extension until June 2030.

This news comes after Omar Marmoush initially agreed to move to City from Eintracht Frankfurt, pending agreement between the two clubs.

The German club is demanding around £67m (€80m) for the 25-year-old Egypt international, and negotiations are expected to begin soon.

The opening bid could come as early as this weekend. Marmoush wants the move because he knows he is currently City coach Pep Guardiola’s number one target.

There is no release clause for the striker and the Bundesliga club, who are third in the German top flight, are expected to reject offers significantly lower than the previously mentioned figure.

City and Marmoush’s camp consider a transfer fee of £42m-£50m (€50-60m) to be more realistic.

Marmoush, who can play in any position up front, has scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga so far this season, with only Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane scoring more.

Marmoush statistics

He has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season and ranks second behind fellow international Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah To share goals across the five major European leagues this season.

South American football expert Tim Vickery says Reis is not “close to being Premier League ready”

South American football expert Tim Vickery speaking to Sky Sports News reported on Vitor Reis:

“Palmereis are in the Club World Cup and they desperately want to keep this centre-back, who turns 19 next week.

He added: “I don’t think he’s anywhere near Premier League ready at the moment. He’s classy but needs to fill the void physically.”

“Palmeras have produced a lot of good players recently – mostly strikers.

“If you put him in the Premier League right now, he would be really bullied. So, maybe it’s in everyone’s interest for him to stay a little longer in Brazilian football.”

He added: “But Palmeiras are reluctant to sell before the Club World Cup.”
