Prince Rahim Al -Husseini was named as Agha Khan, the spiritual leader of millions of Shiite Muslim Muslims all over the world.
He will take over the role of his father, Prince Karim Agha Khan, He died on Tuesday at the age of 88.
The AGA Khan Development Network said in a statement that the appointment took place after Prince Karim’s will was canceled.

During his time as the best spiritual authority, Ismaili, the late Agha Khan helped find a charity responsible for managing hundreds of hospitals and educational and cultural projects, especially in the developing world.
He was also known for his enormous wealth. Forbes magazine estimated in 2008 that his wealth amounted to one billion dollars (801 million pounds). Commercial projects included hotels and telecommunications companies, as well as significant investments in horse breeding.

The new Aga Khan is the eldest son of his late father and Princess Salima, a former British model that turned into Islam and changed her name from Sarah Crocker Paul.

According to Aga Development Network (AKDN), Prince Rahim has worked in many of its councils, and he is currently chairing the Environment and Climate Committee.
The site said: “The Prince was especially concerned about the AKDN campaign to protect the environment and mitigate the effects of climate change,” adding that he was also interested in work “that meets the needs of those who live in the greatest poverty.”
Prince Rahim has two sons, through his marriage to former American model Kendra Spears.
