Local officials said at least one person was killed and three were wounded in a “huge” attack on a drone on Moscow and the capital region.
The regional ruler Andrei Vorobyev says the losses were in the cities of Vidnoye and Domodedovo, outside the capital. Seven apartments were damaged in a residential building.
Moscow mayor Serge Sobianin says 73 drones are heading towards the city. The roof of one building was damaged by the drone.
A train network is now being suspended in the provinces, and flying restrictions are located at Moscow airports after the attack – one of the largest since Russia has launched a large -scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
The attack comes just hours before A crisis meeting between representatives from the United States and Ukraine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Focus on ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.
In a post on social media, the ruler Fuupeiv published the photos that they claim showed one of the damaged apartments, and burned vehicles in what looks like a car park in the Moscow region.
He said that 12 people – including three children – had to evacuate them from their damaged apartments after a strike overnight.
Restrictions on flying were imposed at Moscow airports at the airports of Moscow, Dumodidovo and Fnokovo – major transportation centers used by millions of passengers every year.
The Russian Ministry of Defense later stated that 337 Ukrainian drones were either intercepted or destroyed overnight in Moscow and nine other Russian regions.
Ukraine did not comment on this issue.
Overnight, Ukrainian officials reported the attacks of Russian drones on the capital Kiev and several other regions.
It was not immediately clear if there were any victims.
