President Voludmir Zelinski, after Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin pledged to start negotiations to end the war, said that Ukraine will not accept any peace agreement approved by the United States and Russia without its involvement.
Trump said there is a “good possibility” to end the conflict after he and the Russian president made a “lengthy” phone call on Wednesday.
The US President also said he does not believe that he was “my work” for Ukraine to join NATO and was “unlikely” to return to its borders before 2014.
Zelinski said his country would not be closed from negotiations. The Kremlin said that Ukraine “will participate in one way or another” in the talks.
Separately, Trump announced a meeting of “high -level people” from the United States, Ukraine and Russia at Munich Security Forum on Friday.
He said he was not “exactly sure who would be from any country.”
Russia, which does not participate in the annual forum, has not publicly commented on Trump’s claim.
Meanwhile, DMYTRO LYTVYN adviser told reporters that “he was not expected to talk with Russian in Munich.”
“We cannot accept this, as an independent country, that is, agreements (made) without us,” said Zelinski, who had a single call with Trump on Wednesday.
“The Europeans need to be at the negotiating table as well,” he said that Trump told his priority “security guarantees”, which is something that he does not see without support for us.
In a later post on X, he discusses a call with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, he said that negotiations could not start without a unified position from Ukraine, Europe, tumors and Ukraine.
“I have confirmed that Ukraine should negotiate with the position of strength, with strong and reliable security guarantees, and that NATO will be the most cost -effective for partners,” he said.
“World leaders also warned of Putin’s demands to prepare to end the war.”
European Ukraine allies also rejected any move towards a forced settlement on Kyiv.
“There can be no negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine, and Ukraine should be at the heart of any talks,” said UK Defense Minister John Healy.
German Chancellor Olaf Schools rejected a “peaceful peace” and described by the “unfortunate” Minister of Defense, Washington was already making “concessions” to the Kremlin.
