US President Donald Trump will host Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House for trade talks.
Moody, which lasted for two days, comes at a time when Trump ordered that American trade partners face a mutual tariff-import taxes for success to match similar duties that these countries have already received regarding American exports.
Immigration was high on the agenda, where Trump is expected to ask to regain thousands of illegal immigrants.
Earlier on X, Modi said he also discussed space, technology and innovation at a meeting with Trump ally Elon Musk.
Trump and Modi have developed a personal relationship over the years, despite the friction of trade.
“We had a great relationship,” Trump said, welcoming his visitor in Washington, DC on Thursday.
Moody said: “I believe a firm belief with Trump that we will work with the twice the speed we did in his first term,” Modi said.
“They will buy a lot of oil and gas,” Trump added. “They need it. We have.”
Shortly before the dualism, Trump ordered his advisers to calculate a wide new tariff for trading partners in the United States worldwide, warning that they would start in force by April 1.

The document noted that the average tariff in the United States on agricultural goods was 5 % for countries that gave Washington the most favorite nation (MFN).
“But the average MFN Applied tariff in India is 39 %.”
“India is also receiving a 100 % tariff on American motorcycles, while we are only 2.4 % tariffs on Indian motorcycles.”
On Thursday, Trump admitted the dangers of customs tariff policy, as economists have warned that import taxes may lead to an increase in consumer prices.
“Prices may rise somewhat, in the short term, but prices will also decrease,” he said in the oval office.
But he said that policy will strengthen American manufacturing and “the country is dumping with jobs.”
Trump has already placed an additional 10 % tariff on imports from China, noting its production of fentanel, which is fatal philosophers that irritated an overdose of the United States.
