Trump warns Iran will face ‘dire’ consequences unless Houthi attacks stop happymamay

US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that it would face “harsh” consequences if the Houthis in Yemen continue to attack international shipping corridors.

He said that the Iranian leadership will be responsible for “every shot launched by the Houthis”, which has long supported by Tehran. The group later said it had targeted a US aircraft carrier three times in the past two days.

The Houthis first tried to attack the USS Harry S Truman in the Red Sea on Sunday after the deadly US strikes on Yemen.

The Pentagon said it had hit 30 targets in Yemen since Saturday, in the largest American military operation in the Middle East since Trump returned to the White House.

Trump posted on the social truth platform on Monday: “Every shot launched by the Houthis from this point will be seen forward, as Iran’s weapons and leadership were shot.

“Iran will be responsible, suffer from the consequences, and these consequences will be severe!”

The US President accused Iran of providing the group with financing, weapons and intelligence, which Tehran denies.

In a message on Monday to the United Nations Security Council, the United Nations envoy denied that he had violated the arms embargo on Yemen on Yemen, and said that he had not participated in any annoying activities in the region.

Reuters news agency reported that Ambassador Amir Sayed Eravani accused the United States of “baseless accusations” against Iran.

On Monday, Pentagon officials said that the American attacks on Yemen were directed at a broader group of targets from the authorized strikes during the era of former President Joe Biden.

Lieutenant General Alex Greenkoch said that the Houthi drone experts were among those targeting.

He added that there were no reliable indicators on any civilian victims.

Washington said that some of the main Houthi figures were among the dead, although the group did not confirm this.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Bernil said the United States is not seeking to change the system.

He said, “This campaign will be uncompromising to deteriorate its ability, open shipping corridors in the region and defend our homeland,” he said.

On Sunday morning, the Houthis fired drones and missiles targeting USS Harry S Truman.

A US BBC US partner for a US BBC American partner told the American BBC to the American BBC American partner for the American BBC US partner for the American BBC to CBS, where an American combat plane shot down, a fighter plane, which shot down about 11 drones, told the US BBC partner CBS.

The official added that the Houthis also fired a ballistic missile that crashed in the water less than USS Harry S Truman.

On Monday, the group said it launched a third attack on the ship in just 48 hours – which resulted in the disruption of the American military strikes that were preparing for the launch.

The Pentagon did not immediately respond to the BBC when asked about the latest claims for the group. Earlier on Monday, Pentagon officials said that one missile fired by the Houthis on the ship, which the Houthis erred more than 100 miles (160 km), and denied that any of the Houthi attacks were successful.

The Houthis said at least five children were among the 53 people who were killed in US air strikes in the areas of Yemen on Al -Jouf and Hoda, losses that were not independently verified.

The United States also fired air strikes against the group on Saturday and Sunday.

The Houthis said they would continue to target the shipping of the Red Sea until Israel raised its siege in Gaza.

The group – often falsely claimed that it only targets ships associated with Israel, the United States, or the United Kingdom in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Since November 2023, the Houthis sank two ships, seized a third, and killed four crew members.

The group controls SANA and northwestern Yemen, but it is not the internationally recognized government.
