Elena Rybakina’s coach Stefano Vukov remains banned by WTA after investigation | Tennis News happymamay

Elena Ribakina said that she is “disappointed” from the decision of the Tennis Federation of Professional Tennis Union to ban her former coach Stefano Fukov in the wake of the investigation of the Board of Directors in a possible breach of the rules of her behavior.

The ruling body revealed last month that the Croatian had been temporarily suspended from filling an official role in the championships after Rybakina announced that it joins its team.

Fears have arisen over several years about Fukov’s behavior towards Ribakina, who was trained in Wimbledon in 2022.

Reading the statement of the Union of Professional Tennis players: “The Malaysian coats union confirms that the independent investigation into a possible breach of the rules of behavior from the Union of Professional Tennis players by Stefano Fukov has been created.

“By following this process, the comment remains a practice. To protect the confidentiality and results of the investigation, WTA will not provide more details.

“We are still committed to ensuring that all matters are dealt with in a fair and objective way according to the rules of behavior WTA.”

Speaking to reporters after beating Rebecca Seramkova at the Qatar Open Championship on Wednesday, Ribakina said: “I was disappointed by the situation, and how the process went. I will not comment much on that.

“I focus on my matches, and when I go to the court, I only think about the way I need to play, so I focus on myself, of course, on the opponent.

“Certainly, this is not the best time, but as I said, I always focus on my matches and want to do the best I can.”
