Arsenal striker Leandro Trossard has admitted his side need to be perfect in their quest to win the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners currently occupy second place, four points behind league leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand. Last time out, Arsenal recovered from a late setback against Brighton as they drew 1-1 to beat north London rivals Tottenham 2-0.
Liverpool, which is in first place, has not yet achieved any victory in the league since the beginning of the year, as it suffered two consecutive draws against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest. However, Trossard believes the league’s increasing competitiveness means Arsenal will need to remain at their best to continue competing.

“Over the last four or five seasons, it’s been a close race. Everyone is competing, and it’s not just the teams that are at the top, everyone is improving every season, so it’s more competitive.”

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said the club remains “active” in looking for potential players to come in, eschewing the need for frontline support as they push for the Premier League title.
Arsenal’s title push this season has not been helped by an ever-growing injury list in the forward areas.
It was confirmed this week that Gabriel Jesus has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury and will join Bukayo Saka on the sidelines. Despite the absences in attack, Trossard says he is ready to fill the void when called upon.
“Injuries are a big blow for us. We know what Bukayo is [Saka] He showed the club that Gabriel Jesus was in good form, these injuries are bad luck. Hopefully we’ll be ready in the meantime. It is up to us to be ready.
“We had to change some things because of injuries so that everyone gets their chance. Of course, I’m always happy [to fill in up front]. “I am always ready to play in any position on the field.”

Arsenal retained their threat from set-pieces and loose balls as the team that used corner kicks most effectively. Their prowess in taking corner kicks has led to some criticism from spectators who suggest that the Gunners are overly reliant on set-pieces. For Trossard, Arsenal is more than just set pieces.
“It’s part of our game and we’re really good at it,” he said. Sky Sports.
“We want to be the best at everything, and that includes set-pieces. We have shown consistency over the last two years, and that is where you can decide games. It is a big part of our game but it is not the only part.
“We can also score from open play. I don’t think there was an over-reliance on corner kicks. The view from the outside would be that because we scored a lot but it’s not in our minds to say we can only score from open play. Scoring from set pieces is Just an extra tool for us to win the game.
“I think everyone in the league wants that. We’re really happy about it, obviously we can score more but at the end of the day, you have to be happy when you get wins in the Premier League.”
