Mr. Jim Ratcliffe, co -owner of Manchester United, says it is wrong not to stay Eric Tin Hag in the summer.
The Dutch coach was handed over a extended contract in Old Trafford after beating Man City in the FA Cup final, but then nine games in this campaign were thumb.
Talk to Sky Sports’ Gary Neville, Ratcliffe says that the newly assembled leadership team, CEO Omar Perrada, Sports Director Sir Dave Brailsbord, and club coach Jason Wilkox failed to reach the right conclusion.
Man UTD is now fourteenth in the Premier League table, 36 points behind Liverpool – who are scheduled to match the United record with 20 Premier League titles – with Robin Amorim as a main coach.
“It was too early to make a major decision in reality,” Ratcliffe said when explaining the decision -making in the summer.
“We were not together as a team for a long time. It was just weeks, and it is a big decision, right?
“It is clear that the structure is around you [current head coach Ruben Amorim] Now completely different. There is a truly strong relationship and a truly strong support culture for Robin. Jason and Robin talks to each other twice or three times a day, Omar speaks to Robin every day, every time I go to the match I speak to Robin.
“But it was extremely difficult to know the environment in which Eric was working. Was that, in other words, was the wrong performance of the Erik function, or was it a job from the institution? We could not reach the bottom of the answer to this question with certainty, so, so we gave us the benefit of doubt.”
In response to a question from Neville if he was regretting that now, Ratcliffe said: “Yes, this was the wrong decision. We made the wrong decision. It was a mistake. Yes, I assume in this sense that I am sorry for that.
“I think there are some mitigating or reduced conditions in making this decision, but at the end of the day the wrong decision was, so I am of course on this decision.”
