An event for mixed golf in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics will appear with aspects of one male player.
The mixed competition – which will take place between individual men and women – will be an event consisting of 36 hole across two rounds of 18 holes.
There is a maximum of one team for each country.
Individual men and women returned to the Olympic schedule in 2016 with Justin Rose, Sistaki Shevler, Nelly Corda and Lydia Co, among those who have won gold since then.
“The golf was incredibly successful in Paris 2024, as we continued to build on the momentum from Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, we are excited to attract more attention to our sport through this additional coordination.
“The athletes were very excited about their desire to play with their citizens, and we look forward to watching them competing together in Los Angeles.”
The golf game was part of the Paris 1900 games, then the 1904 Olympiad in Saint Lewis, before getting rid of the program.
