Scot Niko Carrillo will face Nabil Annan for the interim Muay Thai bantamweight world title after Superlake Kiatmo 9 was injured.
Carrillo was originally supposed to fight Superlake, one of the best strikers on the planet.
However, Superlic’s knee injury means Carrillo will face Algeria’s Thai Annan on January 24 at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand at ONE 170, live on Sky Sports.
The winner of the match will face Superlek in a unification world title match at ONE 172 in Japan at the end of March.
Carrillo has won all his bouts for the promotion and the hard-hitting Scot has stopped all his opponents within the distance.
He is the top contender in the division and was targeting the Muay Thai bantamweight titleholder.
Carollo previously said: “Everything I said, I did. I put my neck on the line because I came out with these bold statements about what I was going to do but I haven’t made a mistake yet.” Sky Sports.
“I have a strong belief in myself. I just prove myself right every time.”
Remaining unbeaten in ONE Championship, with all four victories coming by knockout, confirms that confidence, as he added: “I know what the fans want to see in ONE which is violence, so I changed my style for that.”
