Red Bull admitted that the F1 test was “not smooth” as they expected with the question marks on its pace compared to the clear McLaren standards before the Australian Grand Prix.
During the three days of the test in Bahrain, Red Bull completed the lowest number of rolls, as Max Versaben set the second best time on the last day on Friday, behind George Russell.
However, RB21 was regularly in the garage where the team made changes throughout the test, but also suffered from water pressure failure on Thursday.
VerstapPen or Lawam Lawson did not complete a full race simulation, which would have been the best indicator of Red Bull.
“It was not a smooth test as we expected and expected the team, but it is better to find some problems here more than the subsequent whip, and for this reason we are here, to understand the car,” said coach Pierre Wash.
“The weather was not with us and not very representative of this path, but we tried to explore the capabilities of the car and tried to understand how to respond to different different different, and I think we have achieved it to some extent.
“I think it is very difficult to see a starting request for Melbourne over the network today, you see that four teams look very fast, including our money, but we haven’t seen much to the other teams, we tried to focus on our program.
“I am not happy as much as I can be because the car did not respond to how we want sometimes, but it is going in the right direction, perhaps the size of the direction was not as much as we expected, which is something we need to work on for the first race and future development.”
Verstapen: Work to do it, but the test was not bad.
VersApet has an opportunity equal to the Michael Schumacher record consisting of five consecutive titles this year, but Lando Norris goes to this season as a favorite after McLaren has more liked the test.
On the second day of the test, Norris was about one second faster than Charles Licerrick from Ferrari and Mercedes Kimi Antonelli during the period of the race simulation of each of them, albeit on a faster frame.
Lewis Hamilton noted that Versabpen had a long -term “decent” day, but the Dutchman has reduced expectations.
“I think we had a decent day, there were some small problems, but in general, we have completed a lot that we wanted to do,” he said.
“I think it was not bad, but at the same time there is still a little work to do. However, this is what we expected and we will continue to work and continue to try and hope, and we go to Melbourne, we will learn a little more by passing through all the data and see where we are.
“It is difficult to know the location of everyone, so there is still a little work to do for us. We look forward to starting the race properly again in Australia.”
When is the first F1 race?
