Sam Burgis, Warrington coach, is still confident that he will be part of the historic Betfred League match in Las Vegas at the end of next week, although he is currently unable to travel to the United States.
The former international England did not get a visa to enter the United States of America yet with the confrontation with Wigan Warriors at Allegant, which is part of the head of the four -matches in Las Vegas on March 1 and everything Live on Sky Sports.
Burgis revealed earlier this week that his request was considered and there was no indication when approved, with it is still unclear – as of Saturday morning – whether he will be able to fly with his team on Sunday as decided.
He spent two days in London this week while attending the dates at the American embassy, as he only returned in time to achieve the wolves of 18-12 over Catalan Dragons on Friday night, and his application is still under review.
“I am not sure at the moment,” Burgis told reporters after the wolves. “It was a process during the past two days.
“The visa application is available for review. It has lasted some time. I respect the process and everyone’s efforts to reach this point but it is out of my will at the present time. We will see what next 24 hours bring.
“I think I will arrive there, there was a lot of work to go. I crossed the fingers. If I don’t go to the plane on Sunday, I hope I will not be far from the team.”
When asked if he knew what was the reason for the delay, he said: “I do, but I don’t really want to talk about it.”
Burgis: “I will reach Vigas!”
Borges, who had a sparkling profession with South Sydney, was one of the faces of the Las Vegas event, which also includes two NRL games in Australia and women’s preparations.
“It will be a really fun week for everyone,” Borges Sky Sports said. “I want them to absorb it, take a bit of experience, and perform there next Saturday.”
“I have been confident of reaching Las Vegas as scheduled,” Borges added.
“I respect the process. It is just a time to some time. I’m optimistic. I will reach Figas, I will get there … it’s only when, that’s all! I see you in Vigas.”
