Billy Horschel says TGL will provide a never-before-seen perspective on golf to fans old and new.

TGL starts January 8, 2025 – Live exclusively on Sky Sports – From the custom-built SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, integrating golf technology and innovation on an unprecedented scale.

Horschel, who is on the 24-man roster, praised TGL’s creators, TMRW Sports, for their innovations that he believes will meet the needs of loyal golf fans as well as those coming to the game for the first time.

“For golf fans, they will enjoy all the numbers and data,” he said. Sky Sports. “The launch conditions, how much spin the ball had, how far it went — they’ll get a kick out of that.

“For me, if I hit a shot and the ball was supposed to go about 112 feet, but it only went 100 feet and it came out five yards, I would know it only went 100 feet in the air and the spin rate was too high, and that’s why Beyond that, he came up short.

“When we put out numbers like that and discuss them with our teammates, it’s going to be really cool.

“It will work for everyone. The non-golf fans will see something different, and the hardcore fans will get all the data and see the players in a different light.”

“It’s great and it’s great that Sky Sports is broadcasting it in the UK, which has the most knowledgeable golf fans in the world. They are the most knowledgeable, the most hardcore, the most courageous, and they love the game of golf.

“I’ve been lucky enough to experience that going there for the last seven years and I hope they enjoy TGL as much as I will play and be a part of it.”

The competition features six teams of golf stars in a season-long competition that concludes on March 25, where teams will compete in two-hour matches across 15 specially designed holes in a mix of virtual and real-life action, giving fans the opportunity to watch the world’s best players in a new and engaging way.

For Horschel, the cutting-edge platform laid the foundation for players to go out and entertain golf fans, expanding the scope of the game he loves so dearly in the process.

“What everyone at TGL has created is an incredible product,” he added. “They did everything they could to be successful, and now it’s up to us as players to be artists.

“We’ll still be competitive, we still want to win and have bragging rights, but we need to be artistic and different from what people see 47 weeks of the year on the PGA Tour.

“We can show a side that people might not see on the golf course and show them more about who we are behind closed doors.

“These little things go a long way for the golf fans and non-golf fans who connect with TGL and allow us to succeed.”

He continued: “I’ve been excited about this ever since they came and talked to me about it in early 2022. After a very short conversation I didn’t need to think any further, I said yes straight away.”

“When I look at golf, I love it. I think it’s the greatest game in the world and it can do so many things for people, it can open doors, it creates relationships, it allows you to travel the world.

“Going to a golf course and trying to learn how to play the game is intimidating for beginners, so trying to combine two scary things together doesn’t always match up and can hold people back from wanting to play the game.

“I’m excited because this could open another avenue to attract more people to the game of golf.”
