TIGER Woods will be transferred to Torrey Pines after Los Angeles fires.
The Rivera County Club was due to the stage of the PgA Tour signing event from February 13 to 16, but this tournament is in the Pacific Palisades area in southern California, which was eliminated.
With the ongoing disasters and respect for the affected people, the championship will turn to San Diego before the expected return to Rivera in 2026.
Torrey Pines is a regular place in the PGA tour, as it hosts the insurance of farmers open, while also introducing the US Open in 2008 and 2021, won by Woods and John Ram, respectively.
Woods said: “We are grateful to the city of San Diego and Tori Pines to host it in Genesis 2025, and everyone who has supported the championship.
“While Riviera remains home to Genesis Invitional, we are looking forward to playing at the last golf stadium this year and using the tournament to support the damaged fire in the Los Angeles region.”
“As we have seen the last two weeks, sport can be a major transformation, but it is a greater union in combining people for a common issue,” added the PGA Jay Monohan Commissioner.
“The highlight of the flexibility of Los Angeles and the need for constant support for continuous recovery efforts is what our team teams do to play Genesis Invitationalism in Torrey Pines.”
This year, Genesis Invitationalism will include a number of relief initiatives related to Los Angeles, with details that will be released in time.
