Venus Williams has received an introduction to the Indian Wells BNP Paribas Open, which made Williams’s first event next month in nearly a year.
Williams, 44, did not compete anywhere in a tour since the first round of the Miami Open Championship on March 19, 2024. This was less than two weeks after losing her opening match in Indian Wales.
Her first appearance in Indian Wales came in 1994. Williams won five titles in Wimbledon and two in the United States Open in the individual, along with 14 titles in the Grand Salam Championship with her younger sister, Serena.
